Open Question: I am married man 44 yrs & i m not induldging in sex affairs?

I am 44 yrs and have stopped playing sex since last one & half yrs. I do get strong errection in the morning time but then I control myself not to do sex. I haven't met any nightfall also during this period. Is it normal and safe. Should I do masturbation or shld leave as it is. Mentally I remain calm and quite and keep myself bussy.
